TC Project goes 64-bit!
Dopo anni di elaborazioni su svariate generazioni di macchine Intel, TC Project passa ai processori 64 bit di Amd.
Da quando i primi rendering targati TC Project uscirono da un 486 DX4 a 100 MHz nel lontano 1994, non erano mai state abbandonate le piattaforme Intel con Pentium, Pentium III e da ultimo Pentium 4 HT. E' di oggi invece la notizia della transizione per il nuovo elaboratore principale del TC Lab alla tecnologia 64 bit di AMD.
I motivi della scelta, nonostante i Pentium 4 restino un soffio superiori agli omologhi Athlon, sono la più favorevole scalabilità, costi inferiori e non da ultimo la possibilità di una migrazione tra alcuni mesi a sistemi operativi a 64 bit come Windows Vista.

Sono indesciso se comprare un PC con processore AMD Athlon 64 3400 oppure con un P4 HT 3,4Ghz tenendo conto che quest’ultimo è identico in tutto, nella sua composizione, al primo solo che costa 100 euro in più. Grazie

L’athlon è un processore davvero buono, almeno questo è quello che posso dire dopo quasi 5 mesi che lo utilizzo. Credo che le sue potenzialità si potranno apprezzare solo quando i software che si utilizzano avranno tutti estensioni a 64 bit. Se fai grafica, te lo posso consigliare, il mio non mi ha mai dato problemi! Poi i 100 euro rimasti puoi reinvestirli in una buona scheda video!
